Worked examples: progression time and XP bonuses
Selected design / playtest proposal — not live
Progression time is a time percentage. At the proposed 100% setting, first mastery targets 24 total reference hours. At 80%, it targets 19.2 hours with 1.25× future base XP. At 120%, it targets 28.8 hours with about 0.8333× base XP.
A +20% XP bonus instead divides time by 1.20: 24 hours becomes 20 hours, not 19.2. Personal perks are additional to the baseline; they should actually shorten the workload.
Changing pace partway through: ten reference hours completed plus fourteen remaining at 100% becomes ten completed plus 11.2 remaining at 80%, assuming the same future activity and bonuses. Previously earned XP and levels stay unchanged.
Strongest early-prestige rank: +40% applies fully through current level 25 and fades to zero at 50. At level 35 it is +24%; at 45 it is +8%. It is not +40% throughout mastery.
Reference examples assume eligible activity and the stated settings. Travel, building, preparation, social time and varied equipment make real sessions different.
