Why we balance gameplay
Design direction
We want fair, rewarding gameplay at every level. Perfect balance is impossible: players have different goals, equipment, time and playstyles, and fairness itself involves subjective judgments. But we have to start somewhere.
Our formulas give us a clear, consistent starting point. We will explain how they work, why we chose them and their limitations, then use gameplay evidence and player feedback to improve them.
What fairness means here
Beginners should be able to make useful progress. Better equipment should remain worthwhile. Different skills should offer comparable progress for comparable qualifying activity, without pretending that every task feels the same.
Why separate goods from XP?
A better axe can gather more logs for a build or customer. That benefit can remain even when skill progression has a smaller advantage. This helps suppliers without making beginner equipment irrelevant.
What a formula cannot settle
Fun, terrain, luck, access to resources, disability, experience and personal goals vary. A mathematical cap is not proof that the whole experience is fair. Real play and feedback matter.
